"I haven't had beef, But I will eat, Who are you to question: Siddaramaiah
New Delhi: The controversy on beef ban does not seem to end and the latest political leader to jump on it is Karnataka's Cheif Minister Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking to journalists after a programme organised by the Bengaluru unit of Youth Congress, Siddaramaiah said “I have not eaten go-maamsa (cow-meat) until today, (but) who are you to ask me whether I have or not?”
He also recalled the recent raid by the Delhi police on Kerala House in the capital after a complaint was filed by a right wing organisation that beef (cow meat) was being served.Targeting BJP and Sangh, he said that they cannot take away the rights of individuals.
Siddaramaiah said,"The beef-eating controversy is part of this growing intolerance in the country."
The CM also said that incidents of communal violence such as the Dadri lynching and atrocities against Dalits have risen after the BJP government into power at the Centre.
