Varanasi: Lok Manch national secretary Amar Singh said he was disillusioned with his former allies when they closed ranks with those who had an opposing stand on the Ayodhya issue.

"I was disillusioned and decided to part my ways with them. Now I want to lead a humane life free from any religious bias," he told reporters here on Thursday. He inaugurated a party office at Kamchcha and presided over a function in Khedi lake area.

He also accused the BSP government here of harassing elected representatives in the state.

Citing the example of Mukhtar Ansari, he said once a member left the BSP, he was branded as a corrupt person. Singh will visit different regions of the Poorvanchal area from December 1-15 over demands of a seperate state. PTI
