Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced launching of a Business Reality Show on a Bengali TV channel.

Writing in her Facebook account, the Chief Minister said: "The show will target young entrepreneurs with unique business ideas and help them to achieve their dreams."

Cricket icon Sourav Ganguly will be the face of the show titled "Egiye Bangla" (Forward Bengal).

Mamata writes: "Our very own, Sourav Ganguly, has come forward to be the face of the show! Like his passion on and off the field, Sourav will ignite young minds to be successful entrepreneurs of tomorrow. My best wishes."

With industrial environment yet to improve during Trinamool Congress rule, industrialists and entrepreneurs in Bengal are sceptical about the reality show. However, Finance Minister Amit Mitra is gung-ho about the reality show.

"It will be a great show. Our Chief Minister is herself preparing the outline for the show. Young entrepreneurs will voice their aspirations and views on the show", Mitra said.

CPI(M) leader Mohammed Salim described the reality show as a 'gimmick'. He added: "Small entrepreneurship is good thing, but they need big industries to sustain. Where are the big industries?"

BJP MLA Shamik Bhattacharya said: "Not a single missed call for investment came to the government from any industrialist from London or Singapore. Now they are speaking about small entrepreneurs. It was Arun Jaitley who recently advised Amit Mitra how to promote small industries."
