Ahmedabad, Dec 20:  Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research here to call on ailing former chief minister and Congress leader Madhavsinh Solanki.

Solanki is in hospital after complaining of chest pain and breathlessness.  He was stabilized with medicines and several test were performed. He underwent angiography on Thursday morning, as results began to come from election counting centres.

Solanki holds the record of winning 149 out of 182 seats in the Gujarat assembly elections in 1985. Solanki said: "I will be the happiest if somebody breaks my record."

However, this time, Modi couldn't break Solanki's record.
