Orissa BJP Chief Prays For Posco Ouster
Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: Orissa BJP president Jual Oram on Wednesday prayed at a Shiv Lingam in Bonai for removal of the controversial Posco project from the state.
“We poured water on Shiva Lingam and invoked the blessings of Lord to ensure removal of Posco,” Oram told reporters.
Oram along with members of Khandadhar Surakshya Samiti prayed at the Baneswar Shiv Temple at Bonai.
“I have been opposing the project from the beginning. I opposed it even when BJP was part of the BJD-BJP coalition government headed by Naveen Patnaik from 2000 to 2009,” he said.
Oram who hails from Sundergarh and represented the seat in Lok Sabha twice in a row, said they pledged not to allow entry of Posco into Khandadhar area, the proposed site of the company's mining project. PTI
