SP Chief Kept His Word Of Moving Ahead: Amar
Taking a dig at Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Amar Singh on Wednesday in New Delhi said he has kept his word of moving ahead by appointing Mohan Singh as new party Spokesman and leaving an "ill" person like him behind for the sake of power.
"After accepting my resignation from key party posts, Mulayam Singh Yadav had said he wants to look ahead. He has done so by appointing Mohan Singh as party's spokesman and by also including him in the SP Parliamentary board. He has kept his word of moving ahead and leaving behind an ill person like me to embrace power," former party general secretary Amar Singh told reporters here.
Amar, who was reacting after Yadav announced three new party General Secretaries (including Mohan Singh) in his, Obaidullah Azmi, and Sanjay Dutt's place, said the party chief had taken the decision on a day which was incidentally also his (Amar's) birthday.
"I am, however, grateful to Mulayamji for looking back at his ordinary party worker as he telephoned me in the morning and wished me on my birthday," Amar added.
He said, "Mulayam had said life is like a fair, where people come and go. Now Mohan Singh is with him, who had earlier been with Chaudhary Charan Singh (former PM) and Janata Dal."
Amar said he did not care much about the new appointments made by Yadav in the party as he was "detached" from all such developments. He also refused to comment on Mulayam's family members.
