The Telangana Legislative Assembly's Budget session would be held over a period of a month. In order to accommodate more time to debate, the state government has also decided to convene the House in the evenings and Saturdays as well.
In a press release given by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's office, the Telangana government would like to change certain Acts which are in force since Telangana is a new state.
On 2 June 2014, Telangana was separated from Andhra Pradesh as a new 29th state of India, with Hyderabad as its capital.
