Two-day Winter Session of Gujarat Assembly from today
Ahmedabad: Gujarat government has called a two-day Winter Session of the state Assembly starting today.
A new bill for converting the Panchayat Act Amendment Ordinance into an Act and a bill for Gujarat Education Tribunal Ordinance will be tabled in the House.
New Governor OP Kohli will also address the House for the first time.
Meanwhile, the opposition Congress has demanded a longer session. Shankersinh Vaghela, Leader of Opposition, said that a two-day session has been called just to fulfil the constitutional obligation.
"There is so much to discuss in the Assembly... even five days are not enough. The state government has called a two-day session which clearly shows that the government has no intention to discuss people's issues,'' he said.
