Vasundhara Raje extended secret support to Lalit Modi's immigration plea?
New Delhi: The controversy reagrding the association between former IPL boss Lalit Modi and BJP is getting murkier with the revelation that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje secretly supported Lalit Modi's immigration plea.
The startling revealations came through a letter which was a part of the documents issued by the PR firm engaged by Lalit Modi's lawyer Mehmood Abdi. Those documents were mailed to various news organisations across the country by the firm.
Interestingly there are no signatures of Vasundhara Raje on the papers issued by the firm. And therefore, the veracity of the letter remains to be authenticated.
Earlier on Monday, Abdi had held a press conference in Mumbai and alleged that Lalit Modi was hounded by the previous UPA government.
Vasudhara Raje who was then the leader of the opposition in Rajasthan assembly has issued the statement in which she clearly stated that her support to Lalit Modi's application be not made public to Indian authorities.
Opposition parties, who are constantly attacking External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and demanding her resignation, reacted strongly to the latest development and stepped up its attack on the BJP.
