Mahendra Singh Dhoni has added another feather to his illustrious cap, he becomes the first wicket-keeper in the history of ODI cricket to effect 100 stumping dismissals. The former India skipper achieved this magnificent feat during the fifth and final ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Dhoni reached to the historic landmark when he removed Akila Dananjaya’s bails and stumped him off the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal in the 45th over of the Lankan innings. The 36-year old Indian cricketer breaks the previous record held by Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara - 99 stumpings (404 matches). Interestingly, Dhoni has just taken 301 matches to achieve this milestone.

Third wicket-keeper in the list is another Sri Lankan - Romesh Kaluwitharana, who affected 75 stumpings in 189 matches.

Apart from his brilliant batting skills, Dhoni is also known for his god-like reflexes and impeccable instincts behind the stumps. He has affected several miraculous stumpings and run-outs for Team India in his career while donning those big gloves.

In the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, the old warhorse has silenced his critics in his own style. He performed consistently well with the both bat and behind the wickets. In the last ODI, Dhoni joined the ‘Elite 300’ club, as he becomes the sixth Indian cricketer represent the country in the 300 ODIs.

Dhoni also achieved another unique feat in the last ODI vs Sri Lanka at Colombo, he became the only player to go not-out for the maximum number of times (73 innings) in ODIs.
