India captain Virat Kohli hammered his 29th one-day hundred as India continued to maintain their dominance over Sri Lanka in the five-match series. Kohli slammed one six and 14 fours as India looked set for a mammoth total against Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI in Colombo. Kohli is now third on the list of batsmen with most ODI centuries. The 28-year-old is just one century away from going past former Australian captain Ricky Ponting's record of 30 hundreds. Sachin Tendulkar is on top of the list with 49 hundreds. (LIVE SCORECARD)

This was Kohli's seventh hundred against Sri Lanka in ODIs - the second most by any batsman after Sachin Tendulkar (8). Kohli, with seven centuries, is also second on the list of most ODI hundreds by an Indian captain after Sourav Ganguly, who had scored 11 tons.

India, who have already sealed the series 3-0, opted to bat after winning the toss in the fourth ODI at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium on Thursday.

The visitors received an early jolt after aggressive opener Shikhar Dhawan was removed by pacer Vishwa Fernando in the second over of the innings.

However, Kohli took charge as soon as he come out to bat and started hitting a flurry of boundaries. Both Kohli and opener Rohit Sharma, fresh from his 124 not out in the third ODI, attacked every Sri Lankan bowler to score at a cracking pace.

Kohli reached to his 15th ODI fifty off 38 balls and while Rohit too completed his half-century off 45 deliveries.
