In what should come as welcome news for the supporters of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Indian cricket fans in general, skipper Virat Kohli has fully recovered from his shoulder injury and is now fit to lead his team in the next Indian Premier League clash against Mumbai Indians.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Medical Team on Wednesday confirmed that Indian Cricket Team and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has regained match fitness," a statement from BCCI read.

"He will now be available for RCB's next match against Mumbai Indians on April 14 in Bengaluru," it added.

Kohli underwent rehabilitation after sustaining an injury to his right shoulder while fielding during the third Test against Australia in Ranchi.

The injury forced Kohli to miss India's fourth and series-deciding Test against Australia in Dharamsala as well as RCB's first three matches in the ongoing IPL 10.

RCB have lost two of their three games so far in this season and are languishing sixth on the points table after finishing runners-up in 2016.

Earlier this week, Kohli had posted a video on Instagram hinting at his possible return on Friday.

He had injured himself with a dive to stop a ball near the boundary during the third Test against Australia in Ranchi last month. RCB was led by Shane Watson in his absence.

In the 2016 edition of the IPL, Kohli had set the charts on fire with a record 973 runs in 16 matches with four centuries and seven fifties.
