Dhaka, Bangladesh: Mahmudullah struck a career-best 82 not out to steer Bangladesh to a challenging 256-8 against Zimbabwe in the fourth one-day international on Friday.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored 77, and added 134 with Mahmudullah for the fifth wicket, after Bangladesh was at a miserable 32-4.

Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza hit a quick 39 towards the end.

Fast bowlers Solomon Mire, 3-49, and Neville Madziva, 3-60, enjoyed career-best figures for Zimbabwe.

Madziva and Mire scythed down the Bangladesh top order to leave the hosts tottering.

Madziva's fuller-length delivery removed the in-form Anamul Haque for 5, after he scored consecutive half-centuries in the last two matches.

Haque and Tamim Iqbal shared century opening stands in the previous two matches, but this time their partnership lasted just 14 runs.

Iqbal went for 16, Imrul Kayes for 5, and Shakib Al Hasan on 1, when Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudllah ended the rout.

Rahim brought up his 18th half-century off 51 balls.

He and Mahmudullah combined for 137 in 25 overs. Rahim, after seven boundaries, was out for 77 off 78 balls when he attempted a slog sweep of legspinner Tafadzwa Kamungozi, 2-36.

Kamungozi claimed big-hitter Sabbir Rahman for 1 at 175-6 in his next over to give Zimbabwe hope of restricting Bangladesh below 200.

But captain Mortaza blitzed four fours and two sixes in 39 off 25 before falling to Madziva in the 49th over.

Mahmudullah remained unbeaten after his 10th half-century, studded with six fours.

A one-minute silence was observed for the death of Australia batsman Phillip Hughes.

Bangladesh has already clinched the five-match series with a 3-0 lead.
