Phillip Hughes death: Cricketers who died of injuries on the field
Sydney: Cricket has shown its cruel face and another gentleman lost his life in the game. Australian batsman Phillip Hughes passed away on Thursday leaving the whole cricket fraternity shocked and saddenned after being hit by a bouncer while playing a domestic first-class match.
Hughes was in a critical condition a hospital in Sydney, almost two days after being knocked out by a cricket ball and he also underwent an emergency surgery.
He now joined the list of unfortunate cricket players who died of the injuries sustained while playing the game.

1. Phil Hughes (Australia, 25) - 2014
The Australia batsman was struck on the head by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match between South Australia and New South Wales. He fractured his skull and suffered massive bleeding in his brain and was operated upon in a Sydney hospital. Hughes died of his injuries two days later.
