Galle Test: Pakistan win toss, opt to field against Sri Lanka
GALLE: Pakistan won the toss Thursday and elected to bowl in the rain-delayed first test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium.
Teams usually elect to bat first after winning the toss in Galle, but overcast conditions and a wicket that had been covered for two days, due to rain, prompted captain Misbah-ul-Haq to give his seamers first use of ideal conditions.
The entire first day's play was washed out by rain. On Thursday, the toss was delayed by 90 minutes due to wet ground conditions. Play will begin at noon local time and the first session will go on till 1:15 p.m. The second and third sessions will also be shorter than standard, with 72 overs scheduled for the day.
