Chasing 293, India were all out for 268 in 48.4 overs. Virat Kohli's 123 off 111 balls went in vain.

New Zealand's pacer Mitchell took 4 wickets for 68 runs in his 10 overs and Corey Anderson dismissed 2 Indian batsmen for 51 runs in his 10 overs.

Earlier in the match, India won the toss and put New Zealand to bat first. The Kiwis made 292 for seven in 50 overs with Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor and Corey Anderson scoring half centuries.
