Here’s how silver medallist PV Sindhu shared her golden moment with father
Just one reason is enough to bring a smile on billion faces, an example of which was given by a 21-year-old girl last Friday.
Handing India its first badminton silver at the Olympics, shuttler Pusarla Venkata Sindhu did the entire nation proud at the prestigious games.
While she was far away from her homeland when she brought in the golden moment, Sindhu shared the delightful news with her proud father by sending him the photographs of her medal.
After she was presented with the silver medal, she took pictures of it and sent them to her father PV Ramana.
Here are the photographs:
On August 19, the 21-year-old Hyderabadi native faced world no. 1 Carolina Marin of Spain 21-19, 12-21, 15-21 in a pulsating final that lasted for an hour and 23 minutes.
Ms Sindhu, the two-time World championship bronze medallist, became the first Indian woman player to clinch a silver in the Olympics and fifth woman player from India to win a medal in the quadrennial games.
