Roger Federer secures Semi Final spot to face Tomas Berdych
Tennis maestro Roger Federer has defeated Canadian Milos Raonic to book a spot in the semi-finals where the Swiss player will face Tomas Berdych from the Czech Republic. Federer is in touching distance of clinching a record 8 title as Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic crashed out of the tournament from the All England Club.
Federer eased to a 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (7/4) win over Milos Raonic to become the second oldest Wimbledon semi-finalist of the Open era. Defending champion Andy Murray was dethroned by Sam Querrey as he experienced a huge blow by suffering an injury in the right hip as the score card reads 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (4/7), 6-1, 6-1.
Novak Djokovic was headed towards the exit as the Serbian lost to Berdych as the injury was the major difference as he was experiencing excruciating pain in his right elbow while trailing during the match.
Federer will face Tomas Berdych while Querrey will tackle Marin Cilic.
Federer who is 35, will played his 100th game at the All England's Club and is the second oldest man to reach the semi-final after Ken Rosewall who finished runner-up in 1974 at the age of 39.
