The official Twitter account of liquor baron and chairman of the defunct Kingfisher Airlines Ltd, Vijay Mallya was hacked on Friday.

A series of tweets appeared on Mallya’s Twitter account on Friday morning with the purported passwords of the various bank accounts he holds.

Earlier Mallya shared this news of hacking through his twitter handle and wrote: "My account has been hacked by some one called Legion who are Tweeting now in my name. Simply ignore. Will fix this."

“Outfit called Legion has hacked my e-mail accounts and are blackmailing me !! What a joke” Mallya said in a tweet.

Mallya’s Twitter account hack follows a similar breach of the accounts of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.

Expletives and abusive tweets were posted on the handle.

Rahul’s account was hacked on November 30; the following day, the official account of the Indian National Congress (INC) was also hacked. The hackers then flooded Twitter with derogatory tweets.
