New Delhi, June 5: HCL Infosystem has rolled out a new calling tablet, called ME Connect 2G 2.0.



The 2G tablet comes with a 7-inch screen with 800x480 pixel resolution and is powered by 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor along with Mali-400 GPU. It has 1GB DDR3 RAM and 4GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB.

The HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0 runs on the Google Android Jellybean 4.1 OS and offers support for 11 local Indian languages and face recognition to lock and unlock the device.

The tablet offers little on the camera front as it has a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera.

Other features include 3G connectivity through a USB datacard (WCDMA/EVDO), Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as it also comes with an integrated Wi-Fi router which can be used to create a wireless hotspot.

"Our latest offering further showcases our proud legacy of innovative products that address all kinds of consumer needs. The ME Connect 2G 2.0 phablet will cater to the young at heart who are always on a lookout for something new and exciting," said Gautam Advani, global head - mobility business unit, HCL.

The HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0 costs users only Rs 8,499, which is far lower as compared to other tablet in the same segment. It competes against the likes of Salora Fontab, Lava ETAB Connect and the Micromax Funbook Talk P360 along with several others.
