Soon after the hugely popular chatting service WhatsApp started letting Android users make voice calls through the app, the company's latest free calling feature is now extended to the Apple platform.

The WhatsApp Calling feature is comparable to Skype and the FaceTime Audio service on iOS.

“Call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they're in another country. WhatsApp calls uses your phone's Internet connection rather than your cellular plan's voice minutes,” said WhatsApp in its app update description.

Through an update the feature is now available to the iOS app. As we may be aware that the app uses your internet connection to complete these calls. The company says it is rolling out the feature slowly over the next few weeks.

The other big update to WhatsApp is now that it plays nicely with iOS 8's new sharing system, meaning you can share photos, videos, links, using the share button in other apps.

The messaging app has also introduced Other new features include a quick access button to the camera and your camera roll and the ability to send multiple videos at once.
