Body-shaming is a double-edged sword. It hits the overweight population as much it harms the underweight ones. The ‘Modern Family’ star Sarah Hyland has been garnering a lot of attention or her lean body. But the gorgeous actress decided not to take the body-shamers lightly. She slammed her haters in a powerful 8-page message.

“I’m not in control of what my body looks like,” Hyland says to those who are body shaming her by saying she’s anorexic or she should “eat a burger”. She tries to convey this message to her haters through her powerful open letter.

This message was needed in the times where people shamelessly degrade a woman down to a piece of meat. How a woman looks is more important than what significant is she doing. A slight change in her body makes the bunch of bodyshamers go berserk and they feel it’s morally-obliged of them to pour some downright rude remarks on her body. Every single woman, regardless of how perfect she looks, must’ve gone through body-shaming at least once in her life. These numbers are sometimes more than one or just two.

This bold move by Sarah not only silenced the shamers but also impressed her fans who lauded her being vocal about the issue. Many fans took to Twitter to express their support to the actress. Truly, it was commendable of the actress to speak up about the issue that’s least talked about in our society- skinny shaming.
