Time flies like an arrow! You would find the phrase aptly said when you realize that today 16 years ago Aamir Khan's movie Sarfarosh hit the big screen.
The melodious romantic song ‘Jo Haal Dil Ka Idhar Ho Raha Hai' sung by Alka Yagnik is as refresh in our memories as the powerful performances in the movie.
As it's been a one and a half decade, we decided to zoom on the lives of the star cast of the movie. How they look then and now.
Take a look
1. Upasana Singh
From a bar dancer in Sarfarosh to the unmarried bhua in Comedy Nights with Kapil, Upasana Singh has travelled a long way.
Famous for her role as a deaf and dumb in the 1997 film Judaai, the 39-year-old actress is still making her presence felt in the industry with fluent stand-up-comedy.
2. Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Nawazuddin Siddiqui made his debut in the industry with Aamir Khan starer Sarafrosh. His 139 second performance hinted that he was destined for bigger and better things.
And now after 16 years, Siddiqui has movie jewels like Black Friday, New York, Peepli Live, Kahaani, Gangs of Wasseypur, Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2, Manjhi and Talaash in his kitty.
3. Sonali Bendre
It's been 16 years, but Sonali Bendre is still rocking her simple yet ravishing look in the movie Sarfarosh.
The lady is away from the big screen from quite a long time, but one can see her making appearances in TV serials and reality shows.
4. Naseeruddin Shah
Naseeruddin Shah is undoubtedly one of the finest and versatile actors of the industry. He was specially praised for his role of a Muhajir (Muslim Indians who migrated to Pakistan after the Partition of India) in the Sarfarosh.
In his recently released Dharam sankat Mian, Naseeruddin entertained the audience with the avatar of MSG style motorcycle ‘baba' whose hamming is matched with caricaturish hairpiece and costume
5. Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan nailed it with his role of A.C.P. Ajay Singh Rathod in the movie. In the span of 16 years, we have seen him growing from a chocolaty boy to Mr. Perfectionist.
Not much to say, as his movies speak volumes for him.
After all without Aamir, who can imagine movies like Andaz Apna Apna, Lagaan, 3 Idiots, Qayamat Se Qayamat, Taare Zameen par, Dil Chahta Hai, Dil, Mann, Rang De Basanti and many more.
