Come for free meal: A restaurant owner invited dumpster diver for free meal in her restaurant
Throwing away the extra food is a daily routine for privileged people like us but unfortunately hundreds of people quench their hunger by feeding on the dampened food.
Many of us just ignore the fact and blame things on their fortune, but this kindhearted lady from United States has done something amazing for the needy.
Ashley Jiron, the owner of a restaurant in Warr Acres, Oklahoma, was deeply hurt to see some random person searching food on the dumpster outside her outlet.
“I had gone to the back to go put some trash in the dumpster, and I had noticed that some bags and containers with food were emptied and gone through,” Jiron told ABC News.
It is when 30-year-old lady decided not to let it go and do something about it.
“Immediately, of course, my heart sank, and I knew I needed to do something about it right away.”
Jiron, who owns P.B. Jams, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich spot, took a swift action and posted a note on the dumpster outside.
Her note reads:
“To the person going through our trash for their next meal. You are a human being and worth more than a meal from dumpster. Please come in during operation hours for a classic Pb&j, fresh veggies and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.”
However, so far that person has not turned up for taking Jiron's offer but her effort is certainly worth appreciation.
People of social media embraced her stand, with Jiron's post on Facebook getting nearly 600 “likes” and over 200 “shares.”
Her story is worth sharing. We might not feed everyone but everyone can feed one.
