Kattappa’s role in Baahubali 2 was to be played by Mohanlal, say sources

SS Rajamouli’s historical drama Baahubali 2: The conclusion featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty in pivotal roles is already on a mission of breaking all box office records of previous films. And here we bring another surprising fact about the casts of Baahuabli 2.

Baahubali fans are already finding it tough to get over the leading character Amrendra Baahubali, which was perfectly portrayed by Prabhas. Not only due to his looks Prabhas with his fantastic acting skills has already left a long-lasting impression on his fans. 

In fact, the characters portrayed by Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty in Baahubali 2 were equally important. The film would have been incomplete without the most prominent character of the film Kattappa, which created all the buzz before its release. Kattappa’s character was performed by Sathyaraj and he killed the Baahubali in the film.

But very few know that the superstar of Malyalam cinema Mohanlal was the first choice of Rajamouli for Kattapa’s character. Rajamouli wanted to offer Kattapa’s role to Mohanlal as he is one of his favourite actor, said sources.

Not just Kattapa, it was earlier revealed that actress Sridevi was the first choice of filmmaker SS Rajamouli for the role of Sivagami in Baahubali and Baahubali 2 both.

Although, in Baahubali 2, Ramya Krishna has very well portrayed the fictional character of Sivagami. With her extraordinary acting skills, the actress has led the audience to remain glued to the screen.

It was not only her dialoge delivery but her expressive eyes which evoke strong emotions into her character. While everyone is busy praising Ramya for her Baahubali character, but if you imagine Sridevi in the same character, you can see more life into the character.
