Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has approached a Pakistani artist Shafqat Amanat Ali to croon a song in his upcoming play ‘Milne Do’, reportedly. If rumours are to believed, then the play will be staged in Mumbai, and Delhi in June.

The play is said to be based on cross border peace, and is an initiative to make things better between the two countries.

Post Uri attack, the relations between India and Pakistan had hit all time low.

On being asked about the ban on Pakistani artists to work in India, Mahesh revealed to a leading daily that after Uri attack the relations between two countries took extreme turn but there was no official ban on Pakistani artists. He added that as storytellers they were trying to bring people from both the countries together with the play.

It is yet to see if Mahesh’s reason go down well with people.

Lately, Pakistani actress Mahira Khan who featured in ‘Raees’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan didn’t come to India to promote the film. In fact, she attended the press conference via video call.

After Uri attack, film industry association put a ban on Pakistani artists. Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ that featured actor Fawad Khan faced the irk, and the director was even threatened that his film will be stalled. Karan then released a video requesting for a smooth release.

Now, it is yet to see if Mahesh face such outrage of people.
