It was said that SRK wasn’t willing to do the film with her as the "Queen" actress said that she does not want to work with the Khans since she wanted her role to be equal to that of the male actor.
When asked about reports of him saying no to the film Shah Rukh said, "Who told you this? Don't believe everything what you read."
Recently the 51-year-old actor had revealed that he was offered two scripts from Bhansali but he has not given nod to any of the projects yet.

Directed by filmmaker BR Chopra's grandson Abhay, the movie is a remake of 1969 film of the same name which starred yesteryear superstar Rajesh Khanna and Nanda.
The remake version featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha is produced by Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment.
Asked if he would like to be part of the remake SRK said, "I wanted to do the film when I heard the script. But the team right now doing it is very good."
