The upcoming magnum opus of Sanjay Leela Bhansali ‘Padmavati’ made it to the headlines for one more reason.  While shooting for the film, an unfortunate incident took place on the sets. Reportedly, one of the painters named Mukesh Dakia fell from a height of five feet and was declared dead.

The police have filed an accidental death report and will further investigate the matter. Immediately after the accident, Mukesh was rushed to Kokilaben hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The lead actress of ‘Padmavati’, Deepika Padukone took to Twitter and to express grief. She tweeted, “shocked and saddened by the news...may his soul rest in peace and my most sincere condolences to his family...”

The CEO of SLB productions Shobha Sant also called it unfortunate and completely unforeseen adding that they are ready to help authorities in their investigation process.  She further added that film’s art director assured that proper safety measures are being taken on the sets.

She said, “Our support and prayers are with deceased’s family in this time of grief. The film’s art director assured everyone that proper safety precautions were taken on the film’s sets and that no one could have foreseen “such a rare and unfortunate occurrence.”

On a realted note, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Padmavati’ also stars actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor besides Deepika. The film is slated to release next year.
