New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has joined the boiling debate of hoisting the National Flag at central universities, today. He took to social media to welcome the decision taken by the HRD ministry saying that it will inspire everyone to be better citizens.
“Totally with the decision of the Tricolour being hoisted at all Central Universities and why not it brings out the best in us,inspires us to soar high. #TricolourForUnity”, he tweeted.
On his Facebook page the same words were accompanied by a fluttering tricolour.
If you remember Akshay Kumar's last movie ‘Airlift''s climax scene included hoisting of National Flag at the airport. Khiladi Kumar had accepted that it was a very emotional moment for him and he got teary eyed during filming.
From his latest post, Akshay has proved that his love for the tricolour goes beyond the silver screen.
In an apparent bid to evoke strong nationalistic sentiments amidst alleged anti-India slogans being raised during protests at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the Jadavpur University in West Bengal, the central government yesterday made it mandatory to hoist the Indian Tricolour atop a 207-feet mast across all central universities in India. The decision was arrived at during a meeting called upon by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani with all vice-chancellors of central universities across India.
