New Delhi: We have often related Bollywood movies to events in our real lives. It is through the emotions expressed that we try to connect with a particular film – be it a romantic movie or a patriotic one.
Bollywood movies have depicted the ‘natkhat' brother-sister bond in different forms in various movies.
The latest one showing the sibling bond is ‘Dil Dhadakne Do' where Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh portray one of the coolest pair of siblings ever.
Bollywood movies have played a key role in cherishing this bond.
Remember the cool number ‘Apun bola tu mera laila' from Josh starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan? One can't miss the perfect chemistry and special bond between Ash and SRK in the song.
Here we bring you 5 Bollywood songs that describe this lovely bond so perfectly:
Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka
A 1971 release, ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna' featured Dev Anand, Mumtaz, and Zeenat Aman. Helmed by Dev Anand himself, the film portrayed him and Zeenat Aman as brother and sister.
The film also featured a song ‘Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka' depicting the evergreen love between a brother and sister. While both the actors did justice to their role, Zeenat also won the Filmfare award for Best Supporting Actress.
Bhaiya Mere Rakhi Ke Bandhan
A hit number from the 1959 release ‘Chhoti Behan', this song featured Nanda and Balraj Sahni.
While the film focused on the bond between the ‘chhoti behan' and the ‘bada bhai', the song turned out to be an epic ‘Rakhi' song.
Meri Pyari Beheniya
Rajesh Khanna was no doubt the ‘original superstar' of Bollywood as he could give life to the characters he played on the big screen.
And this is what he did in the 1970 release ‘Sachaa Jhootha' where he is seen as an affectionate brother to his handicapped sister.
The song ‘Meri Pyari Beheniya' from the movie is one hit number which is repeatedly played on Rakhi as the song depicts the exact emotions of a brother for his sister.
Meri Rakhi Ka Matlab
Tirangaa is an Indian patriotic film released in 1993.
While the film was all about honest officers fighting the villain to save the country, the film also manages to tug at one's heart strings with the ‘Meri Rakhi Ka Matlab' song.
The song is featured on Varsha Usgaonkar, where she is seen tying rakhis to her three brothers and explaining the brother-sister bond to them.
Jhoola Baahon Ka Aaj Bhi
A 1998 release, ‘Doli Saja Ke Rakhna' featured Akshaye Khanna and Jyothika in the lead roles and was directed by Priyadarshan.
Though the movie is a romantic film, it also shows the relationship between three overprotective brothers and their little sister Jyothika who falls in love with Akshaye Khanna.
The song shows Jyothika requesting her three brothers to pamper her as they used to do during her childhood.
