New Delhi: The erotic romance novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey' by E.L. James has helped people become more open and frank about sex, a study has revealed.
A study by a leading journal tells that now the people are more open inside the bedroom including dirty talk, sex toys and other sexual experiments.
According to the study these are all the effect of the best selling erotic novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The first book of the ‘Fifty Shades' trilogy was published in 2011. The books have helped people to open up and talk about sex more comfortably.
The people have become much more adventurous in their sexual activities in the past five years, revealed a study by sex toy designers LELO.
The same survey by LELO disclosed that now 83 percent of women feel confident in telling their partner what they want in bed, whereas only 67 percent of women could do so in 2009.
Head of marketing of LELO, Steve Thomson said, “In the past 5 years, there has been a significant change in how we communicate about sex.”
Thomson further added, “The taboo is finally dead. Fifty Shades played a huge role in exposing the masses to a thriving subculture of vibrant sexuality, of embracing one's most secret desires."
The study published in Daily Star also revealed that now the couples are more open in experimenting with sex toys. 74 percent of the people who took the survey admitted of owning a sex toy compared to just 38 percent in 2011. Half of the respondents said they would be comfortable in gifting a sex toy to a family member.
According to the leading daily, the survey was performed on British population.
