British author Salman Rushdie, known worldwide for his contentious inscription, is in news again; this time for his new novel, which is to be released in September this year.

Rushdie is back and yes the Indian-born magician with words is all set to ravel the world with his yet another fiction.

Titled 'Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights', the novel would be his much awaited work after almost 7 years of his last full-length work of an adult fiction.

The title of his latest novel is a reference to the fabled Arabian Nights collection of fairytales. The book will be published by Jonathan Cape in the UK and Random House in the US, a leading agency reported.

In his statement about the book, Jonathan Cape (publisher) says, "It blends history, mythology and a timeless love story to bring alive a world that has been plunged into an age of unreason".

Rushdie assures that unlike his previous lengthy tomes such as the Booker Prize winning "Midnight's Children", his latest would be rather shorter.

Last year at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in southwest England he said, "It's not long. It will be something like 250 pages, which is like clearing my throat. I have finally learned how to shut up."

Salman Rushdie's last novel was 'The Enchantress of Florence' in 2008, and way before that he was placed under a fatwa by Iran over his 1988 release 'The Satanic Verses' followed by police protection guarding him.
