‘Every dog has his day’: These canines will inherit Rs 5 crore from Mumbai couple
In an act that evokes surprise as much as it highlights an act of kindness, two canines named Buddy and Tiny are set to end up distinctly as Mumbai's wealthiest dogs.
These golden retrievers will be inheriting Rs 5 crore from their human 'parents'.
According to a Mid-Day report, Mumbai based couple Nandini and Nimesh Suchde will be setting up a trust in the name of their dogs to manage their inheritance.
The valuation of their assets will depend upon the couple’s assets including their apartments in Colaba, Masjid Bandar and Kolkata.
The couple’s affection for the two retrievers began from the day when Nandini suffered a miscarriage several years ago. With the hope of becoming a parent again, the duo wanted to opt for IVF treatment when her husband brought Buddy home in 2003.
“My dream shattered when I lost my baby. With the hope of becoming a mother, I then started IVF treatment. But on November 14, 2003, my husband brought Buddy home, and I suddenly realised that loving these animals is more important. I gave up the desire of having a human child. They have shown me the same love and devotion as any human baby,” she said.
After realising her adoration for the animals, Nandini gave up her desire to have a human child.
“I suddenly realised that loving these animals is more important. I gave up the desire of having a human child. They have shown me the same love and devotion as any human baby,” she told the tabloid.
And now the couple are happier considering themselves as parents of these golden retrievers, and not owners.
The thought of making these arrangements for the two canines began since Nandini began suffering heart problems and wanted to ensure that 'her kids' would be taken care of in her absence.
The couple believes that the trust would help not just their canines but other less privileged dogs too by providing medical requirements. Once the trust is set up, the couple will not be able to withdraw a single penny from their property.
