The Delhi Police has issued instructions to its security staff, especially the female staff, not to wear fancy dresses during any of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s events.

The instructions have been issued as it was noted that staff members were reporting to work in fancy and colourful outfits despite given several warnings, says a Mail Today report.

It was also found that it was the female staff members who were not adhering to the security dress code protocol.

According to the report, the female staff members were found reporting to work without proper uniform even during VVIP functions attended by PM Modi and former prime ministers.

This is despite the fact that the security staff is well equipped with proper uniforms which are provided by the department.

The new protocol issued by Delhi Police states that the staff would first report to the duty officer of the security unit who will ensure that their attendance is marked along with a proper checking of their uniform. Moreover, strict action would be taken against those who fail to adhere to the protocol.

The protocol has also made it mandatory for women officers to carry their weapons till their duty lasts. This instruction was included by the department after it was noted that women personnel are usually in a hurry to deposit their weapons and that they leave office before duty time ends.

The new protocol issued has also directed that the security staff should report for shooting practices regularly. Presently, they practice on virtual shooting ranges but now they have been told to practice at the actual shooting ranges.
