Out of the 2,423 candidates in the fray in the April 15 elections to three Municipal Corporations of Delhi, 1,783 could not even manage to secure the minimum number of votes that is required to reclaim the security deposit.

Only 54 of the total 1174 Independent candidates are eligible to get their security deposit with 1120 nominees having lost the amount.

203 candidates of BSP, who won 15 wards in all three Corporations, lost the security deposit, while SP candidates were able to manage the minimum votes in only 6 wards. The party contested in 107 wards, won 2 and lost security deposit in 101 segments.
