Kadapa (AP): Andhra Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Ahamadulla abstained from the national flag hoisting programme arranged on the eve of 67th Independence Day in the police grounds at Kadapa on Thursday, but chose to hoist the national flag at his residence.





The minister, who was supposed to participate as chief guest of the Independence Day celebrations and hoist the national flag, abstained from the programme on "moral" grounds.

Close aides of the minister told PTI that he intended to participate in the Independence Day celebrations yesterday, but thought that after submitting his resignation to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, it would not be fair on his part to participate in the celebrations in an official capacit
