New Delhi: Icy winds and fog badly affected life in north India including National Capital Region. As many as 34 people reportedly lost their life due to the intense cold wave, which is likely to continue for few more days.
 
110 trains are running behind schedule due to the intense fog.  Early morning flights could not take off from Delhi airport.

Early morning traffic remained thin in Delhi, as people preferred to remain indoors.
 
Mercury touched 4.9 degrees Celsius on Monday night in the national capital, making it the coldest morning of the season so far.

According to a Met department official, the cold wave is likely to intensify in the region, as mercury will dip further.
 
"There will be no respite from the cold wave. The winds will keep the weather cold for the next two days at least," the official said.
