New Delhi: A group of government employees from Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh staged a protest outside Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh's residence here today in support of a united state.

According to sources, members of different employees union of the region had gone to meet Singh at his residence demanding that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) take back its July 30 decision to carve out Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.

However, when the Congress leader, who is also in-charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh, ruled out any roll back of the decision, the employees staged a protest outside his residence.

The demonstrators shouted slogans in support of united Andhra Pradesh and demanded that the decision to divide the state be withdrawn, police said.
