Tonk (Rajasthan): The Congress has lodged a complaint before the Election Commission against BJP MLA Hiralal Regar from Niwai-Piplu constituency for making abusive comments against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Congress leaders alleged that Hiralal, while addressing a workers meeting in Tonk parliamentary constituency, recently threatened to send Sonia and Rahul back to Italy without clothes if his party came to power at the Centre.

Congress leaders have sent the CD of Hiralal's speech to the Election Commission.

Congress leader Shakilur Rehman said, women are traditionally accorded respect in India but a senior BJP MLA has violated the Model Code of Conduct by making such abusive remarks.

Local BJP leaders are maintaining silence on this issue.
