New Delhi: The body of a 43-year-old man was fished out yesterday from a canal in Shahbad Dairy area of north west Delhi after a suicide note was found from an abandoned motorcycle parked besides the canal bridge, police said.

The body of Ashok, an employee of North Delhi Power Limited, was pulled out from the waters this afternoon by a team of police and fire department officials, a police official said.

The operation to pull the body out had started yesterday evening after the suicide note was found by a PCR van's staff from Ashok's motorcycle, he added.

"Ashok in his suicide note wrote that no one was to be blamed for his extreme step. Apparently, he was in depression as he was facing monetary problems," he said.

Ashok's family has been informed and his body sent for post-mortem, the official said.
