New Delhi: In a disturbing development, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Police has arrested two persons Muzammil, a resident of Multan, Pakistan and Barkat, also from Pakistan, near Gorakhpur on charge of conspiring to attack BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi during his poll campaign.

One of them is a suicide bomber, police said, and explosives, electrical circuit and bomb making equipments have been recovered from both of them.

UP police got information from Delhi Police special cell after it obtained vital lead from Indian Mujahideen mastermind Tehseen Akhtar, accused in Patna serial blasts.

The terrorists were planning to target Modi in any of his UP rallies.

UP anti-terrorism squad police is presently interrogating both of them.

Details are awaited, even as National Investigation Agency and other intelligence agencies have swung into action.
