Mumbai: A seven-storey building has collapsed in Mumbai's western suburb of Vakola.

Rescue operations are underway; no casualties have been reported so far.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said the building was unoccupied but it was located next to a slum area where people may be trapped.

The BMC, however, refused to confirm it.

A fire brigade has been sent to the spot.

More details are awaited.
