Gauchar, Uttarakhand, Jun 28: A portion of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) camp in Gauchar was cleared to accomodate Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for his night stay, ITBP director general Ajay Chadha said.

The ITBP chief said, some of the ITBP jawans were relocated, as security personnel felt that the ITBP camp was the safest place for Rahul Gandhi's night stay.

The Congress vice president, a scion of Gandhi family, enjoys proximate SPG (Special Protection Group) security.

The Congress had said that Rahul Gandhi was going to Uttarakhand as a common citizen, and not a VIP.
