Australian prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is likely to visit India next week although an official announcement in this regard is yet to be made.

Turnbull will be accompanied by his Education and Training Minister Simon Birmingham during his India visit.

Simon Birmingham is leading the 'Australia India Skills Mission' comprising a strong delegation of education experts.

The two sides are likely to discuss a number of issues like as education, trade and defence during the Australian prime Minister’s visit to India.

According to some media reports, the Australia India Business Council (AIBC) is  attaching huge significance to the visit of Turnball as the two countries look at each other as strategic partners and are working to strengthen and broaden the existing linkages.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited the Australian Prime Minister to visit India  last year during the G-20 Summit in China.
