New Delhi: The Aam Admi Party on Saturday suspended two of its Lok Sabha MPs Dharamavira Gandhi and Harinder Singh Khalsa and referred disciplinary proceedings against them to party's National Disciplinary Action Committee.

The decision was taken by party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) after they publicly spoken against the leadership including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

A press release issued by the party said, “In its meeting on 29 August, 2015, the PAC took cognizance of anti-party activities indulged in by Dharamavira Gandhi and Harinder Singh Khalsa in Punjab. In a unanimous decision, the PAC suspended Khalsa and Gandhi from the party and referred their cases to the National Disciplinary Action Committee. Now the three-member National Disciplinary Action Committee, with Pankaj Gupta, Dilip Pandey and Deepak Bajpai as its members, will look into the complaints of anti-party activities and indiscipline against Dharamvira Gandhi and Harinder Singh Khalsa.”

Party spokesperson Deepak Bajpai said, “The three-member NDAC, with Pankaj Gupta, Dilip Pandey and me as its members, will look into the complaints of indiscipline and anti-party activities against Gandhi and Khalsa.”

Bajpai charged Gandhi and Khalsa with involvement "in the activities of certain outfits, opposed to aims and objectives of the party".

Both Gandhi and Khalsa opposed the decision by the party to expel dissident leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan in March. After the duo formed a non-political outfit Swaraj Abhiyan, the two MPs supported it and urged party volunteers to support it too.

Just two weeks ago, Gandhi urged AAP volunteers to "join and openly support" Yadav and Prashant Bhushan-led 'Jai Kisan Andolan'.

Gandhi is MP from Punjab's Patiala constituency whereas Khalsa represents Fatehgarh Sahib constituency in the state.

The AAP has four MPs in Lok Sabha, others being Bhagwant Mann and Prof. Sandhu Singh.
