Mumbai, Jul 26 : RPI leader Ramdas Athawale today said his party would oppose Prakash Jha's upcoming flick ‘Aarakshan' if its contents are detrimental to the interest of Dalits.

“We will oppose the film (Aarakshan) if its contents are against Dalits and try to paint the upper-castes in good light,” Athawale told reporters.

‘Aarakshan', starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan in lead roles is a high voltage socio-political drama based on one of the most controversial policies of the caste-based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions.

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes had recently dubbed Aarkashan, releasing August 12, as “anti-Dalit”. PTI
