New Delhi/Raghogarh: Jul 18 : In an escalating war of words, BJP and the RSS today accused Digvijay Singh of trying to communalise the fight against terror and dubbed him as a “street bully” but the Congress leader hit back daring them to file a case against him.

“There is a legitimate suspicion to infer that Digvijay Singh is speaking the language of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi....The intention behind his speaking is help the government which is getting implicated in scandal after scandal and is not able to shed off its image of being soft on terror,” BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said in Delhi.

BJP's strong response came a day afer Singh, Congress general secretary, said, “RSS is spreading terrorism in the country and it has been making bomb factories.”

Singh had earlier courted controversy when he said that he does not rule out the involvement of Sangh in the Mumbai serial blasts.

Hitting back at the Sangh Parivar, Singh said in his home turf Raghogarh that if the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister thinks “I am provoking violence, then he should register a case against me and remove me from the state”.

Prasad said, “It is very unfortunate that Digvijay Singh is deliberately trying to provoke and seeking to change the entire investigation into the Mumbai serial blasts. It is BJP's charge that he is deliberately trying to communalise the fight against terror for petty political gains.” “His utterances must also be gladdening the hearts of terrorists, and notably the ISI,” he said. Indian Mujahideen is being seen as a suspect in the three blasts that took place in Mumbai on July 13 that left 19 dead and over 130 injured.

The BJP strongly defended its fount-head, the RSS, saying it is a nationalist organisation that the party is proud of.Dubbing Singh as a “street bully”, RSS said it pities him for the situation in which he finds himself.

“We pity the situation a senior leader like Digvijay Singh finds himself in... He has started acting like a street bully,” RSS leader Ram Madhav said. “He has already acquired notoriety for his hobnobbing with jihadi elements and it supports for the most corrupt people,” Madhav said.

When asked to comment on Singh's reported statement that RSS was manufacturing bombs in factories, he said nobody takes his statement seriously.“Neither his party nor the Government takes it seriously. Therefore, there is no reason for us to take his remarks seriously,” Madhav said.On his part, Singh said, “if by exposing bomb throwers, I am called an anarchist, so be it. I will continue to do so”.

“If the respected CM of MP thinks I am provoking violence, then he should register a case against me. If I am causing trouble, he should remove me from the state,” Singh said. PTI
