New Delhi:  Delhi High Court here on Friday granted bail to Congress leader and industrialist Naveen Jindal, former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda and former union minister Dasari Narayan Rao in a coal block allocation case.

They were granted protection from arrest but were asked not to leave the country.

Giving a personal bond of Rs. one lakh, each all of them were granted bail.

They were all called in the court today over alleged irregularities in the allocation of a coal mining block in Jharkhand.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had mentioned in its chargesheet that to win a coal block allocation for the firm, Naveen Jindal had promised Madhu Koda to give full support from the Congress and other parties.

The court also said that Jindal had “manipulated” the entire government machinery to score a coal block allotment in Jharkhand.

Jindal had played a "pivotal role" in the plot to get a coal block allotted to his firms Jindal Steel and Power Ltd and Gagan Sponge Iron.

The company, however, denied the allegations.

The substantial irregularities in allocation of coal blocks came to light in 2012.
