New Delhi, Jun 10: BJP president Rajnath Singh today tweeted to say that he has rejected senior leader L K Advani's resignations from all three key party forums - Parliamentary Board, Election Committee and National Executive.

"I have not accepted Shri Advani ji's resignation", tweeted Rajnath Singh. Meanwhile, the RSS said it hoped the BJP leadership will resolve the issue soon.

RSS leader Ram Madhav tweeted: "LK Advani cannot be allowed to leave the BJP like this. Just got to know, very unfortunate but the party will find its way to reconcile with him".

Meanwhile, A number of senior BJP leaders including Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and party Vice President S S Ahluwalia rushed to L K Advani's residence here after the announcement of his resignation today from key party fora.

Apart from Swaraj and Ahluwalia, former party President M Venkaiah Naidu, BJP General Secretary Ananth Kumar and senior leader V K Malhotra also reached Advani's residence immediately after the 85-year-old founder member of BJP sent his resignation to party President Rajnath Singh.

Advani's resignation from major party posts comes a day after the elevation of his one-time protege Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as election campaign committee chief at the National Executive meet being held in Goa.

Among others who went to Advani's Prithviraj Road house were Arun Jaitley and Vijay Goel.
