Sachin Tendulkar has finally made his debut on Instagram on his 42nd birthday on Friday. Indiatvnews.com was first one to break the news.

The master blaster posted a photo of him with son Arjun, daughter Sarah and wife Anjali. He also thanked his family, friends and fans for their warm wishes and blessings for the occasion. His account has now got over 36,000 fans in just two hours and the numbers are increasing rapidly as you read this.

Tendulkar said that he enjoyed having a birthday lunch with his family. The living legend did not forget to thank his fans on Twitter and Facebook, where he has over 9 million and 24 million followers, respectively.

Having bid an emotional adieu to the game in November 2013 at Wankhede, Tendulkar continues to rule the hearts of millions of his fans. The fact is that even after his retirement, a short glimpse is enough for the fans to chant “Sachin....Sachin” in the stadium. It's worth a mention that in World Cup 2015 final, when Tendulkar stepped in at MCG, the crowd went on its feet while cheering his presence.

Tendulkar is still the chief mentor of IPL side Mumbai Indians, is presently in Mumbai ahead of the team's game against SunRisers Hyderabad.

Apart from mentoring Mumbai in IPL, the cricketing God is also busy in shooting for a documentary cum feature film based on his life. The film is being produced by ‘200 not out Production House' and is being shot at his residence and Mehboob Studios. Director of the movie James Erricson says that Sachin became emotional while showcasing his various memorabilia including bats, jerseys, stumps etc that had been a part of his 24-year international career.

The movie will be released across the 2000 theatres in the country in 2016. Tendulkar will become the first cricketer to be featured on big-screen.
